The implementation of physical natural phenomena in spectacular works of art made him internationally famous. Olafur Eliasson (born 1967 in Copenhagen, lives and works in Berlin and Copenhagen) considers elments such as water or light, that creates light reflections or mirrorings and plays with the reception and expectation of the beholder.

This lavish oversized book, conceived in cooperation with the artist, features a series of landscape photographs by Eliasson from his native Iceland, exploring the limits and conventions of our traditional view of landscape. They show that our perception of nature has been fundamentally affected by cultural influences, memories and expectations.
